Our Lore
Part of LMArchaeology, Lore & Piece offers bespoke workshops to many different groups, on many different topics.
Here at Lore & Piece, we are committed to celebrating the individual, and promoting community engagement. We believe that holistic approaches to archaeology prove to be the most fruitful, advocate for change, and contribute most fully to the current state of knowledge.
With this in mind, our over-reaching aim is to enrich the community around us, promote archaeology to the general public - ultimately piquing their curiosity and enthusiasm for the history and heritage of their local area.
The idea began in 2014, when Lore & Piece founder, Laura, began her teaching career as a Language Assistant in Avranches, France.
What struck her the most was how rigid the school system can be, promoting a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach, which so often fails to deliver in its promise. With a diverse range of learning styles, every student is unique, and the key to success is support. With the most appropriate support, best suited to every individual, everyone can thrive.
As Laura is neurodivergent herself, she understands the needs of SEN children in a way that mainstream schools may not, and this underpins the whole ethos of ‘Lore & Piece’.
We stand by our message, and believe in it wholeheartedly:
“Knowledge is for everyone, no matter their background: we grow more, together”
